JCSC’s enrollment decline is measurable. So are hundreds of Jennings legal-settlement students educated outside the corporation. Those are related facts, but they are not the same statistic.
A decline measured in years.
The loaded research synthesis identifies an IU CEEP 2006–2024 decline of about 1,490 students, or 28.24%. The 2026 day-two count continued the pressure, while administration pointed to demographics, vouchers and community/employment factors.

The 2026 opening report listed 19 K–8 students, 10 elementary and 9 middle school. JCSC’s own virtual option therefore remains part of the destination map rather than an outside loss.
The missing dataset
The remaining question is retention: which students actually attended JCSC, when they withdrew, their coded exit reason, destination, and whether they returned. The public transfer snapshot answers where many Jennings-resident students are educated. It does not replace JCSC’s withdrawal history.
