Athletics was already a board-level policy issue.
Loaded meeting research shows the board approved a corporation-level athletics restructuring 6–1 and separately approved Administrative Guideline 1535 concerning administrators’ involvement in athletic coaching, with two members opposed. Those votes document governance change; they do not, by themselves, prove parent allegations about favoritism.

JCSC reported 3,476 students after day two of 2026–27, down 111 from the prior opening count. Budget discussion also tied staffing adjustments to matching enrollment.

North Vernon’s 2022 Comprehensive Plan identifies JCSC as a partner in a proposed vocational/technical training center on the high-school campus and in internship or mentorship programs. That relationship belongs in both the city and school files rather than being mistaken for a chain of command.
